Woman robbed at gunpoint, police looking for suspect

TOWN OF MADISON, Wis. -

The Town of Madison Police Department is looking for a man involved in an armed robbery near the South Transfer Point Tuesday night.

A 37-year-old woman was robbed Sunday at 11:57 p.m. in a parking lot in the 2200 block of Woodview Court, according to a release.

The woman got off a Madison Metro bus at the South Transfer Point and started walking home, according to the release. The woman told police she did not see anyone suspicious at the transfer point but was approached by the suspect in the parking lot of Woodview Court.

Officials said a man approached the woman and pointed a large black round-barreled handgun directly at her face and said, “Give me your purse and run or I am going to shoot you in the face.”

The woman gave the man her purse but had her keys and cellphone in her pocket, according to the release.

The thief is described as a black man with a light to medium brown complexion and had a very skinny nose. He is approximately 5 feet 11 inches tall, weighs 150-160 pounds, and is 20 to 25 years old. He was last seen wearing a red zip up jacket with white stripes on the sleeves, a red and white baseball cap, light gray-colored skinny jeans and tennis shoes.
