Unemployment, jobs

Employment verification: Within four years, all employers must implement E-Verify, a program to electronically verify their workers' legal status. As part of that, noncitizens would be required to show photo ID that must match with a photo in the E-Verify system.

Wisconsin has added a little more than 62,000 private sector jobs in the first two years of Gov. Scott Walker's term.

A new report released Thursday by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics shows that in 2012 Wisconsin tied with three other states for 31st in job creation.

Total job growth in Wisconsin last year was 1.2 percent. Only 16 states had lower growth.

Democrats are blasting Walker over the latest numbers, saying they are another sign that his policies are not working.

Walker's spokesman had no immediate comment on the report. Walker promised in 2010 to create 250,000 private sector jobs over four years.
