Racine man held in 2005 triple homicide

RACINE, Wis. -

A 29-year-old Racine man has made his first court appearance in connection with a 2005 triple homicide.

Juwan Matthews faces two counts of first-degree intentional homicide and four counts of attempted first-degree intentional homicide.

Ryan Lockridge, Aaron Woods and Frank Mister, all 23, of Racine, were fatally shot July 17, 2005, in a parking lot after a dice game became violent. Four others were wounded.

Matthews was identified as one of the suspects in 2005, but police were unable to track him down at the time.

Racine police Sgt. Jessie Metoyer said Matthews was being held in federal prison on drug-related charges, and was transferred from California to Racine to make his initial appearance.

The Journal Times reported that bond was set at $500,000. A preliminary hearing is scheduled Wednesday.
