William C. “Bill” Behm Jr., age 88, of Waterloo, passed away Friday April 26, 2013 at his home.

He was born August 14, 1924, to William C. and Amanda(Nichols) Behm Sr. in the Town of Emmet.

William served his country in the United States Army during World War II. Bill married Betty Jacob in 1951 in Waterloo. He is a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Lake Mills. Hunting, fishing, and bird watching were some of the things Bill enjoyed doing outdoors. Bill loved playing cards.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Betty, 3 children; Sue(David) Peschel, Sharon(Joe) Guttenberg and Sandy(Eric) Hensler, 5 grandchildren; William and Jamie Peschel, Justin and Stephanie Guttenberg, and Tom Hensler, 1 Great grandchild Riley Peschel. Bill is also survived by sisters; Margaret Tiedt Bader and Ruth(Merrill) Kuhl, and brother Jerome “Butch” Behm. He is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

Bill is preceded in death by his parents, 2 sons; Don and Lester Behm, granddaughter Marci Peschel, 5 brothers, and 1 sister.

Memorials may be made to the family or the charity of one's choice.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday April 30, 2013, at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1530 S. Main St., Lake Mills with Rev. Bruce McKenney and Rev James E. Rath presiding, burial will be in Medina Cemetery in Marshall.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Monday April 29, 2013, at Pederson-Nowatka Funeral Home, 143 S. Washington St. Waterloo, and also on Tuesday from 10:00 AM until the time of the service at the church.
