WIAA girls tennis: Middleton advances to state

MADISON, Wis. -

The field is set for the girls state tennis tournament and for the fourth year in a row, the Middleton girls tennis team will be at state.

The Cardinals won the Div. 1 Waunakee sectional Thursday at Nielsen Tennis Stadium.

Middleton's Bridget Bellissimo won her No. 1 singles final match. She defeated  West's Siggy Ohnesorge in straight sets 6-2, 6-2.

In the No. 1 doubles final Waunakee's sister team of Tilly and Shelby Chorney beat Middleton's Darcy Hogendorn and Allison Ragsdale in straight sets 6-1, 6-0.

Individual state begins next Thursday. Team state starts Friday Oct. 25th.  All matches are played at Nielsen Tennis Stadium on UW-Madison's campus.
