MADISON, Wis. -

A woman from Wausau earned a spot as a finalist in the Frito-Lay contest for her potato chip flavor idea.

Finalist Karen Weber said the idea for a cheesy garlic bread-flavored chip came to her after taking her family to an Italian restaurant.

Weber has already won $50,000 as a finalist in the contest, which is now down to three competing flavors.

If picked as the winner, she will be awarded $1 million. Weber said her she would pay for her children's' college education with the prize money.

“I’ve got three kids, so that’s my priority,” Weber said. “I'm too middle class to really go crazy. You know, I might get a new used car, and shoes. Yeah, so Kohl's, look out.”

Weber's cheesy garlic bread is head-to-head against two other flavors: Sriracha hot sauce and chicken and waffles.

To vote in Lay's "Do Us a Flavor" contest, use one of the flavor hashtags in a tweet on Twitter (#SaveSriracha #SaveGarlicBread or #SaveChickenWaffles), text "VOTE" to 24477 or visit the "Lay's Do Us a Flavor" app through Lay's Facebook page.

The company said voting ends May 4.
