MADISON, Wis. -

Gov. Scott Walker has raised $3.5 million in the first six months of the year as he prepares for his 2014 re-election campaign.

Walker reported his latest fundraising numbers on Monday.

He dramatically outperformed the last six months of 2012, when he raised only $474,000. Walker had $2.2 million cash on hand heading into July.

No Democratic candidate has officially announced they will challenge Walker, although former state Commerce Department Secretary Mary Burke is seriously considering getting in the race.

Burke has not declared her candidacy or created a campaign committee, so she is not required to file anything Monday.

Walker spent about $2 million over the six-month reporting period. His campaign made a summary available. The full report was not immediately posted online.
