Verona stops Middleton, 3-0

Emma Ray pitched a complete game two-hitter as the Verona Wildcats defeated the Middleton Cardinals in a girls softball game in Verona Monday night.

VERONA, Wis. -

Emma Ray pitched a complete game two-hitter as the Verona Wildcats defeated the Middleton Cardinals in a girls softball game in Verona Monday night.

Ray drove in the first run of the game in the first inning on a base hit that scored Heather Rudnicki.

The Wildcats scored two more in the fourth as Nicole Neitzel's hit drove in one of the runs.

Ray finished the game with 11 strikeouts and walked only one Middleton batter.

Verona is still undefeated in the Big Eight Conference with an 8-0 record. Middleton drops to 8-3 in the Big Eight.
