She was born on July 14, 1929, in Appleton, the daughter of Oscar and Mayme Kille and was raised by her aunt Frances Earll, who she considered to be her mother. Vernita was united in marriage with Joseph Pilsner on Sept. 3, 1949, at Sacred Hearts Catholic Church in Marshfield. She was a longtime member of St. Dennis Catholic Church in Madison.

In her spare time Vernita enjoyed arts and crafts, word search puzzles, birds, flowers and was known for always being ready to handout whatever people she met needed at that time. Vernita was a very social person and always made it a point to walk around and introduce herself to all her neighbors.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband in 2012; her daughter, Jane Frances Pilsner in 1962; and brothers and sisters.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. DENNIS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 505 Dempsey Road, Madison, on Friday, June 27, 2014, at 10 a.m., with Father Randy Timmerman presiding. Graveside services will be held at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Marshfield with Father Savarimuphu Selvaraj of Sacred Hearts Catholic Church leading the prayers. Visitation will be held at the church from 9 a.m. until the time of Mass on Friday.

Memorials would be appreciated to St. Dennis Catholic Church for Masses or to Southern Care Hospice.

The family would like to thank the staff of Meadowmere Madison Assisted Living and to Southern Care Hospice for their wonderful care and support. A special thanks to Jackie Saad and family, Trish Pokrandt and family, Coreen Crowley and Mary Jane Kelley for always being there.
