MADISON, Wis. -

The U.S. Attorney's office has announced that two Dane County men now face charges of distributing child pornography.

Grant Rondorf, 34, of Madison, faces eight charges of distributing child pornography, and two counts of possession.

The indictment announced by the U.S. Attorney's office Wednesday said that Rondorf distributed video files of minors engaging in sexually explicit conduct between June of 2012 and January of this year.

If convicted, Rondorf faces a mandatory minimum penalty of five years in federal prison and a maximum of 20 years on each of the eight distribution counts.

Benjamin Minor, 37, of Mazomanie, faces four federal charges. His indictment said he distributed and received video files of minors engaging in sexually explicit conduct last December and this January.

Both cases were brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, an initiative launched by the Department of Justice to combat child sexual exploitation and abuse.
