Sylvia J. Fingerson, age 91, of Highland, WI, died on Saturday, November 23, 2013 at Bloomfield Healthcare and Rehabilitation following a brief illness.

Sylvia was born on February 6, 1922, in Clyde Township to Martin and Mabel (Arneson) Arneson. She married Herbert Fingerson on November 23, 1944. The couple farmed in Dodgeville Township until retiring in 1979. They then built a house just down the road from the home farm. Herb preceded her in death on March 18, 2000. Sylvia was a member of the Otter Creek Lutheran Church and the Ladies Aide. Her interests included farming, gardening, growing flowers, sewing, and quilting. Her greatest joy was time spent with grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; 3 infant children, Pricilla, Bruce, and Larry, and a sister, Emmalene Russell.

Sylvia is survived by a son, Douglas (Judy) of Highland; four grandchildren, Keith (Davina) Fingerson; James Fingerson; Marcia (Marc) Loy; and Kristine Fingerson; six great grandchildren, Faith, Ethan and Kenadi Loy; Olivia and Hannah Fingerson and Rebekah Fingerson; two sisters, Avis (Sylvan) Disch of Monticello and Elaine Danielson of Dodgeville; a brother, Chalmer (Barb) Arneson of Rochester, IN as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, November 27, 2013, at the Otter Creek Lutheran Church. Pastor Ramona Orton will officiate with burial in the Otter Creek Cemetery. Friends may call from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Tuesday at the Lulloff-Peterson-Houck Funeral Home in Dodgeville and at the church on Wednesday after 10:00 A.M. Memorials to the Otter Creek Lutheran Church would be appreciated.
