Sun Prairie wins wild 5-set match in state quarterfinals

It took five sets but the Sun Prairie girls volleyball team won its first match at state.

Sun Prairie beats Appleton North 3-2 in the Division 1 Thursday at the Resch Center in Ashwaubenon.

Sun Prairie will face Menomonee Falls in the Division 1 semifinals Friday night at 7 p.m.

The Cardinals won the deciding fifth set 15-13.

It's Sun Prairie's second trip to state. Last year they lost to Menomonee Falls in straight sets.
