Sun Prairie, Middleton, Janesville Parker advance to state baseball

Three Big 8 Conference teams--Sun Prairie, Middleton and Janesville Parker--qualified for the Division 1 field at next week's WIAA state baseball tournament.

Sun Prairie has won the last two Division 1 state titles and they started their day by beating Watertown 10-0 in the sectional semifinal.

They beat Oshkosh North 2-1 in the sectional final.

Sun Prairie will face top ranked Stevens Point next Tuesday at 8 a.m. in a quarterfinal match.

Middleton is back at state for the second time in three years. They beat Reedsburg 7-3 in the sectional final. Reedsburg started the day upsetting second ranked Holmen 4-2 in the sectional semifinal.

Middleton will play at 1 p.m. in the Division 1 quarter finals.

Janesville Parker is back at state for the first time since 1992. They beat city rival Craig 6-1 to in the sectional semifinal. Then they beat Verona, who beat Stoughton in the other semifinal, 4-1 to advance to state.

Parker will play Bay Port around 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in the Division 1 quarter finals.

Jeffeson (D2) , Wisconsin Heights (D3) and Ithca (D4) also advance to state.
