MADISON, Wis. -

Madison police said they used a sting to recover jewelry stolen from Rogers and Hollands Jewelers in West Towne Mall store and make an arrest.

The $13,000 diamond bracelet was stolen in January and turned up on Craiglist, according to a release from Madison police. The seller wanted $3,100 for it.

An officer, posing as a potential buyer, arranged to meet the seller at a parking lot near Verona Road on Friday.

Montolen A. Long, 40, of Madison, was arrested after the officer gave a signal. Long claimed to have purchased the bracelet from someone else. He was arrested on suspicion of receiving stolen property.

The jewelry was returned to the store.
