Saturday in Ann Arbor, Wisconsin softball put an exclamation point at the end of their case for an NCAA Tournament bid when they beat Michigan 6-5 in nine innings.
Wisconsin got contributions from all parts of their lineup. Stephanie Peace had three hits and scored two runs. Chloe Miller had two hits, drove in two runs, and scored another. Marissa Mersch also had a hit and drove in two.
As the game went to extra innings, Cassandra Darrah took over for UW. She pitched the final three innings of the game, striking out three and giving up no runs.
Wisconsin took two of three from Michigan over the weekend.
It is the first time UW has beaten Michigan in a series since 1999.
Thursday, the Badgers head to Northwestern to take part in the Big Ten Tournament.
