Bryton Guckenberg hit a home run in the bottom of the 10th inning to give UW-Stevens Point a 6-5 win over Manchester in their opening game of the NCAA Division Three baseball World Series in Grand Chute Friday.
The Pointers trailed 5-0 going into the bottom of the eighth inning, but Jimmy Coady, Casey Barnes and Guckenberg drove in runs to make it 5-3.
In the bottom of the ninth, Stoughton's Sean Gerber tripled to drive in another run, then Coady hit a sacrifice fly to score Dan Douglas to tie the game at 5.
Then in the 10th, Guckenberg won it with a home run to left.
Madison LaFollette's Tyler Flood picked up the win in relief for UWSP.
The Pointers next game at the World Series is tomorrow night at 8:45 pm.
