Colorado Rockies shortstop Troy Tulowitzki and Toronto Blue Jays outfielder Jose Bautista will serve as captains for the National League and the American League, respectively, in the Home Run Derby at the All-Star Game, it was announced Monday.

Tulowitzki and Bautista will compete in the Home Run Derby and select the four other members from their respective leagues to participate in the event.

The Home Run Derby will be held July 14 at Target Field, the night before the All-Star Game in Minneapolis.

Bautista is a two-time major league home run champion, but, heading into Monday's action, he had just 15 homers this season, well behind American League leader and Toronto teammate Edwin Encarnacion, who has 25.

Before Monday, Tulowitzki had 18 homers, two behind National League leader Giancarlo Stanton of the Miami Marlins.
