NFL star Lawrence Taylor's son has been arrested on rape and sodomy charges in Georgia in connection with the alleged sexual assaults of two girls.

Lawrence Taylor, Jr., 31, was taken into custody on Sunday, according to Cobb County Sheriff's Office records.

Taylor made his first court appearance Monday and remained held without bond at the Cobb County Adult Detention Center, Atlanta TV station WGCL reported.

He is charged with statutory rape, aggravated child molestation and aggravated sodomy.

One of the girls told Powder Springs police she was assaulted at Taylor's home over the weekend.

An incident involving another girl occurred in 2012, according to police.

In January 2011, Taylor's father was sentenced to six years of probation and ordered to register as a sex offender after pleading guilty to sexual misconduct and patronizing a 16-year-old prostitute, USA Today reported.

Lawrence Taylor was arrested in May 2010 for allegedly paying $300 to have sex with the girl at a hotel in suburban New York City.
