Dodgeville's Molly Hanson is headed to the NCAA Track and Field Championships in Eugene, Oregon to run the 1500 meters.
Hanson has had a successful running career so far, but she says the NCAA's were her goal the entire season.
Hanson won WIAA state cross country and track titles for the Dodgeville and Dodge-Point teams and went to Marquette for her freshman year of college.
She transferred to Wisconsin where Hanson says "I am so grateful I chose to come here because it's been everything I wanted and more from college."
In high school, Hanson's dad was her track coach , "so whenever we had Thanksgiving or Christmas it was always like a coaching clinic," she says. "All they'd talk about is running, but it was nice growing up with someone who knew about running."
Hanson's coach at UW, Mick Byrne says she's ready to compete in the NCAA meet. "The hay is in the barn," Byrne said. "No one likes over cooked turkey. It's just all the warm fuzzy feeling right now and stay on your toes and stay loose."
