The Columbus Blue Jackets signed center Brandon Dubinsky to a six-year contract extension on Friday.

According to the Columbus Dispatch, the deal is worth $35.1 million through the 2020-21 season. That is an average of $5.85 million per season.

Dubinsky, 28, has 18 goals, 52 assists and a plus-7 rating in 105 games since he was acquired from the New York Rangers two seasons ago.

In last season's six-game playoff series against the Pittsburgh Penguins, Dubinsky had one goal and five assists while often matched up against star Sidney Crosby.

In 498 career NHL regular-season games with the Rangers and Blue Jackets, Dubinsky has 99 goals, 283 points, 631 penalty minutes and a plus-31 rating.
