The New York Jets were actively shopping cornerback Darrelle Revis during the NFL Scouting Combine last weekend in Indianapolis, according to a New York Daily News report.

Jets general manager John Idzik and coach Rex Ryan have said they want Revis, who is recovering from a torn ACL, back next season but that they wouldn't rule out a deal that could improve the team.

"Me and my job and Rex and everybody involved will always field calls and we’ll always have internal discussions about how we can improve our team day to day, position by position," Idzik said during the combine. "So there are a lot of what ifs, if you will, that we will be discussing internally."

Teams might be reluctant to make a deal for the three-time All-Pro based on his recovery from the knee injury last season and his uncertain contract. Revis is due to make $6 million, which includes a $3 million base salary, in 2013 as part of a four-year, $46 million deal he signed in 2010.

Ryan reportedly is not involved in the decision on Revis. The directive appears to be coming from owner Woody Johnson, according to the Daily News.

"I’m going to coach whoever is here, but John and everybody would be involved in that," Ryan said, according to the Daily News. "Certainly, to sit down and say absolutely not, we’re not going to do it, I’m not going to say this player or that player, but if we got Jim Brown in that trade, we would probably look into it."
