Roland "Rick" Sogn

LODI-Roland “Rick” Sogn, age 74, passed away on Saturday, Oct. 5, 2013, at Lodi Good Samaritan Society.

He was born on Sept. 12, 1939, in Minneapolis, MN, the son of John and Ragna Sogn of Mora, MN. Rick married Mitzie Wenger on July 4, 1959 in Sauk City. He served his country in the U.S. Navy, and was a member of the American Legion Post 216. Rick was the owner/operator of Sogn Welding. He was an avid reader and enjoyed playing the guitar and listening to music.

Rick is survived by his children, Rhonda (Duane) Schoelzel, Mark Sogn (Melissa Sogn), Ginny (Scott) Elert, Terri (Gary) Yeager, Kevin (Brenda) Sogn; 15 grandchildren; Four great-grandchildren; sisters, Beatta (John) Hillman, JoAnn (David) Mikelson, Karen (George) Grauel and Alice Sogn; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mitzie; parents; brother, Tom Sogn; and brother-in-law, John Hillman.

Funeral services will be held at FIRST PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH, 258 Lodi St., Lodi, at noon, on Thursday, Oct. 10, 2013. Burial will be at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday, from 10 until Noon at the church.

The family would like to thank the staff of the Lodi Good Samaritan Society for all of the care given to Rick, and also to special neighbors and friends for everything they have done for him over the years.
