Rendie Mae Collins was born on August 6, 1941 to the late Mr. and Mrs. James S. & Callie J. Thurman in Lexington, Mississippi.

Mrs. Rendie departed this life on August 19, 2013 at the age of 72 years of age at her home.

Rendie joined Tidings of Christ Ministry Church and accepted our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ as her personal Savior.

Rendie last attended Tidings of Christ Ministry Church under the leadership of her son and her Pastor Dwayne Collins. Mother Rendie leaves to cherish her memories to ten children, seven sons, three daughters, and one daughter-in-law. Johnnie Collins of Chicago, Illinois, Mr. and Mrs. Tommie and Jackie Collins, Tyree (Linda Walker), Michael Mack (Stephanie Tibbs), Pastor Dwayne Collins, Ricky Cherry also known as Niecy (Roosevelt Jackson), Linda also known as Lou Lou (Jeran), Minister Renee Green, all of Madison, Wis. 35 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren, one brother Mac Thurman, one sister; Fannie Mae Davis, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Mrs. Rendie always kept in touch with her family. She was a very good cook. Rendie was known for her ability to encourage others and she brought laughter into the lives all she knew. She was so much fun to be around and she made you laugh. Rendie was a loving mother, sister, niece, grandmother, great grandmother, mother-in-law, and friend. She loved going to church. Rendie truly loved her family and make herself available to anyone in need.

Mother Rendie Mae Collins was preceded in death by her father and mother Mr. and Mrs. James S. & Callie J. Thurman, one brother, J.J. Thurman; two sisters Mrs. Ella Mae Wilderson and Mrs. Suzie Mae Ford; one son-in-law, J.C. Green and Mr. Mac also know as M.C. Blunt.
