(NewsUSA) - By the age of 4, Stephanie Rothstein-Bruce was already off and running.

In fact, from high school through her college years at U.C. Santa Barbara, she can't remember a time when she wasn't running. Now a professional marathoner for Adidas, the athlete and her husband, Ben, train year round, participating in U.S. track and road championships as well as marathons.

"I've competed in two Olympic track and field trials," she says, "and ran away with an eighth-place finish in the 2012 10,000-meter trial. I also won the Big Sur Half Marathon that year and finished third in the Honolulu Marathon.

"I work hard and I listen to how my body feels at all times, especially during heavy training."

So when Rothstein-Bruce started suffering from recurring glute and hamstring problems that refused to go away, she made an appointment to see chiropractor Ted Forcum.

"I focused the treatments on Steph's hamstrings and back," Dr. Forcum explains. "Within a short period of time, blood flow was increased to the injured areas, giving her improved range of motion and wellness."

Rothstein-Bruce relies on chiropractic care to keep her performance at its best. She'd love to one day win the New York City Marathon, but her main goal is to make the 2016 Olympic marathon team.
