Police: Woman sexually assaulted in apartment foyer

MADISON, Wis. -

A Fitchburg woman was sexually assaulted in an apartment foyer in Madison early Monday morning, according to police.

The 36-year-old woman told police she was attempting to get into a friend’s apartment in the 400 block of West Wilson Street when she was pulled to the floor by a stranger. She said she kicked and screamed while she was touched inappropriately.

The man fled. He’s described as white, 25-30 years old, 5 feet 6 inches tall, weighing 160-180 pounds with sandy blond hair. He was wearing a white T-shirt, baggy shorts and a dark baseball cap.
