JANESVILLE, Wis. -

A Janesville woman was arrested early Sunday morning after police observed her driving the wrong direction on Humes Road, according to a release.

Police were dispatched to a vehicle driving westbound on Humes Road in the eastbound lane around 2:40 a.m., officials said.

A responding officer said he smelled a strong odor of intoxicants and noticed the driver’s speech was slurred, according to the release. The officer had the driver, Lisa Clowes, 46, perform field sobriety tests.

The tests indicated a high level of intoxication, police said. She later submitted to a breath test and her blood alcohol concentration tested at a .22 percent.

Clowes was arrested on charges of sixth-offense operating while intoxicated.
