Police look for dog, bike-riding owner in biting incident

MADISON, Wis. -

The Department of Public Health is looking for a dog that bit a man Sunday morning on Madison’s west side, according to a release.

A man was bitten around 10:20 a.m. near the intersection of South Gammon Road and New Washburn Way, officials said. He said he was bitten from behind as he was walking on the sidewalk by a dog that was on a leash being held by a person who was riding a bike on the sidewalk.

The man was pulled off his bike by the dog during the incident, according to the release.

The dog is described as a possible Doberman pinscher that is black and tan. The owner is described as a being white, in his 40s, heavy set and possibly bald or balding.

Officials ask anyone with information on the incident to call the police and fire dispatcher at 608-255-2345 and ask for the animal services officer.
