Police: Janesville man sexually assaults child in garage

JANESVILLE, Wis. -

A Janesville man was arrested after police said he sexually assaulted a child in his garage.

The Janesville Police Department said it received a report of sexual assault to a child Friday that took place at a Janesville man's home.

Police said 48-year-old Kenneth K. Kimpel knew the juvenile victim for several months before the alleged assault took place.

The report said Kimpel assaulted the child in his garage.

Police said officers seized a number of items during a search of Kimpel's home.

Kimpel was charged with second-degree sexual assault to a child and taken to Rock County Jail.
