Eagle River/Columbus—Peter Sharrow age 53, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, October 1, 2013 at his home.

He was born on October 3, 1959 in Columbus to Philip and Mary (Powers) Sharrow Sr. Peter was a 1978 graduate of the Columbus High School. He served in the U.S. Coast Guard from 1979 until 1983 where he was stationed in several ports including Hawaii and Japan. His love of the water was cultivated by sailing excursions with his parents to the Bahamas and other locales, and later many fun memories camping in Door County, boating to Rock Island and exploring Lake Michigan in his boat.

In recent years, he created many great memories boating on the Eagle River chain, taking his family and friends tubing, fishing and just cruising on the water. He loved the times he could spend with his family and was his son’s biggest fan, never missing a football or basketball game. His was the loudest voice heard from the bleachers expressing his cheers and encouragement. Peter was a huge fan of the Badgers, Packers, hockey, golf and more. His life was full and it included those around him. Peter graduated from UW-Madison School of Pharmacy in 1989. He was an extremely hardworking father and always provided for his family ensuring their success. One always knew Pete was in the room with his boisterous laugh, bear hugs, and a firm handshake. He always had a joke and a smile and really cared about what you had to say.

Survivors include his two sons, Philip of Fall River and Peter of Madison; his father Philip J. (Lucille) Sharrow Sr. of Engelwood, FL; eight sisters, Mary (Jack) Laszewski and Patricia Robertson both of Columbus, Theresa (Greg) Campbell of Kewaunee, Cailin (Fredric) Lueders and Ruth Ann (Thomas) Hermanson both of Columbus, Margaret (Thomas) Agnew of Fall River, Dorothea (Gary) Jepsen of New Richmond, Lucy (Patrick) Gavin of Fox Lake; two brothers, Nick (Tessie) of Columbus and Maurice (Diane) of Superior; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother; one brother, Philip “PJ” and a niece, Hannah Agnew.

A memorial service will be held at 2:30 P.M. on Saturday, October 12, 2013 at ST JEROME CATHOLIC CHURCH, Columbus with Rev. Steve Kortendick officiating. A gathering will follow immediately at Savanna Oaks in Fall River for greeting family members, food and fellowship. A scholarship fund in Pete’s name will be established.
