Paying Attention To Water

For as much as we respect First Lady Michelle Obama’s commitment to the health of our kids we’re not quite sure drinking enough water is as important as things like exercise and healthy eating. There are also issues like the marketing of bottled water and its environmental consequences that we should address at some point. However we very much appreciate the attention to water in general, as a resource necessary for life, that is inherent in the First Lady’s message. We like even more that Michelle Obama’s visit to Watertown came on the very day the new Global Water Center opened near downtown Milwaukee


Now there’s a statement about the importance of water. A $22 Million, 100,000 square foot technology and business incubator focused on research and development around the global water supply. The importance and fragility of our world-wide water supply is too often over-looked or taken for granted. The new Center will help address that. Equally exciting is what this new Center could mean as the foundation of a definable, competitive economic sector for the City of Milwaukee. Being the hub of global water research isn’t a bad identity to have. With that in mind, we’ll take all the focus on water we can get.
