Patricia Ann Hays

Patricia Ann (Rohr) Hays finally succumbed the ravages of COPD, CAD and schizoaffective disorder just five days short of what would have been her 74th birthday.

Pat was born on April 19, 1940, at St. Mary’s Hospital to Margaret Duffy and Mitchell Rohr. They were joined by her sister, Michelle, three years later. She went to Washington Elementary School and Central High. Her father tended bar for 41 years at the 602 Club on University Avenue, and Pat lived most of her childhood in the apartment above it.

Pat worked for a short time as a switchboard operator for an insurance company in Milwaukee until she ran off to Las Vegas with Ed Hays and got married. They returned to Madison, where Pat has lived ever since. She was most proud of having worked at Chrysalis for 19 years.

Heartfelt thanks goes out to all the institutions and group homes that worked with Pat over the years, both laughing with her and tolerating her difficulties.

Thanks to Belmont Nursing Home for the past several years of care, and to Agrace HospiceCare, Inc., for making her final days restful and serene.

No services will be held. To view and sign this guestbook, please visit: www.ryanfuneralservice.com
