MAZOMANIE-Patricia A. Kerl, age 76, of Mazomanie, passed away peacefully on Sept. 5, 2013, with her family by her side, after a brief illness.

Pat was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She always had an open door policy at home and work which also included her heart. Pat worked for General Casualty Insurance Company for many years until she retired. She had a love of the outdoors, enjoyed her bowling, and card games with the girls, and let us not forget Ho-Chunk. Pat created many friends throughout her life and many she would say were more like family. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Donald Kerl of Mazomanie; daughters, Debbie Kerl (Don Swenson) of Black Earth and Sandra Malm of Arena; grandchildren, Fawn (Dan) Sands of Madison, Daniel Malm of Mazomanie, and Cheyenne Kerl-Ambler of Black Earth; sister, Mona (Bob) Hafner of Arizona; and many other relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernist Parks, Doris McGinnis, and step-father, Clyde McGinnis; brother, John Parks; sister-in-law, Linda Parks; granddaughter, Jessica Kerl; father and mother-in-law, Felix and Viola Kerl; and brother-in-law, Calvin Kerl.

The family will be following Pat’s wishes of cremation and will be holding a celebration of her life at a later date. Pat’s brother, John Parks, will also be remembered. The family would like to thank St. Mary’s Hospital of Madison (CVCIU) and Saint Mary’s Hospital of Minnesota (CCU) for all of their help in trying to keep her with us.
