GREEN BAY, Wis. -

The owners of rental homes across the street from Lambeau Field say they should not be lumped together with hotels and required to pay the same tax.

The Green Bay Area Room Tax Commission is considering cracking down on the homes, rented by fans during Green Bay Packer games for as much as $4,000 a weekend. Officials say a city ordinance imposing a 10 percent hotel room has not consistently been enforced.

Nick Ciadella owns one of the `Packer party houses.' He told Press-Gazette Media that if the houses are taxed like hotels, they should be afforded the same zoning, parking and signage privileges.

The rental home owners are already required to get a permit and pay a $300 registration fee.
