Otto "Bill" Hein

Otto "Bill" W. Hein, age 87, of Janesville, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, Oct. 5, 2013, at St. Mary's Hospital. He was born in Janesville on Sept. 28, 1926, the son of Otto and Gertrude (Courtney) Hein. Bill served in the U.S. Army in the Pacific Theater of World War II. He married Margaret Lyons in Janesville on Sept. 2, 1960 at St. Mary's Catholic Church and she preceded him in death on Sept. 21, 2012.

Bill owned and operated Janesville Frosted Foods, retiring in 1978. Bill was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. He was also a life member of the Elks and the VFW, and a member of the Moose Club and the Knights of Columbus. Bill enjoyed golfing, bowling, and attending his grandson's soccer games. He also enjoyed watching the Cubs, Brewers, and Packers and enjoyed meeting the "guys" at the Sizzlin' Grill every morning.

Bill is survived by his daughter, Mary (Rick) Donahue of Janesville and grandson, Daniel. He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret, and his parents.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2013, at ST. MARY'S CATHOLIC CHURCH, 313 E. Wall St., Janesville. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Tuesday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at SCHNEIDER APFEL SCHNEIDER & SCHNEIDER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, where there will be an Elks service at 7:30 p.m.
