The CapTimes' excellent series of stories in response to the Race to Equity report continued this week with a powerful piece written by Boys and Girls Club of Dane County CEO Michael Johnson. We urge you to read it. One of the key themes and recommendations is we need to get to know each other.

Johnson recommends having someone of a different color over for dinner. There's a different opportunity this weekend, offered by Reverend Alex Gee, whose own personal story generated a great deal of discussion when it appeared in the CapTimes a few weeks ago.

Rev. Gee has made a commitment to keep the dialogue over racial disparities in Madison going and he has called a town hall meeting for Saturday, from 2 to 4 p-m at Fountain of Life Church at 633 West Badger Road.

Everyone agrees we need to move to action quickly. But we also need to get to know each other. This town hall meeting feels like an opportunity to do both. We urge everyone to attend.
