MIDDLETON, Wis. -

A Middleton police officer was struck by a man suspected of causing a disturbance at a bar Wednesday night, according to a release from Middleton police.

Officers were called to Mid-Town Pub at 2405 Allen Boulevard at 6:29 p.m. for a report of a man flipping over tables and pushing customers. Bar employees told police Jeremy A. Childs, 27, of Gays Mills, became upset when they refused to serve him more alcohol.

Childs left in a vehicle, and witnesses were able to give police a description of the vehicle and license plate information, police said.

Officers said they found and stopped the vehicle and Childs failed field sobriety tests. Childs also struck an officer in the face with his head, police said. Childs and two officers were injured during the arrest.

Childs was arrested on suspicion of fourth-offense operating while intoxicated, two counts of battery, five counts of disorderly conduct, battery to a law enforcement officer, and resisting an officer causing injury.
