MADISON, Wis. -

A 31-year-old woman from McFarland was knocked unconscious during a bar fight on Madison’s east side early Saturday morning, according to a release from Madison police.

Officers said the woman had no pulse and was breathing when they arrived at Club LaMark at 1525 N. Stoughton Rd. A sergeant performed chest compressions on the woman outside the club.

The woman told police she was in an argument with a man she knows when the bar staff asked her and her and the man to leave. The dispute escalated outside and the woman was struck once in the face, police said.

The suspect is at large.

The sergeant will be nominated for a departmental life-saving award.
