Virginia "Ginny" Goeden, nee Gundrum

OREGON-Virginia “Ginny” Goeden, nee Gundrum, passed away on Oct. 29, 2013, at Agrace HospiceCare.

She was born on Oct. 27, 1924, in Hartford to Joseph and Katherine Gundrum. Ginny married Daniel M. Goeden on Feb. 19, 1944, in Slinger and they had 60 years together before he died in 1004. Her life was her family, home, and being a devoted partner in her husband’s business and charitable interests particularly the Lions Club International. They lived in Tomah, Mauston, then moved to Oregon to be closer to their daughter in 2000. Ginny’s Catholic faith was also a large part of her life and the last several years, she was an active member of Holy Mother of Consolation Church in Oregon. Her many friendships at Greenwood Apartments and the Oregon Senior Center kept her active. Ginny was an expert Bridge player until just a few days before her death.

Ginny is survived by her daughter, Sandra (Philip) Hill of Tulsa, Okla., Susan (Ron) Graney of Oregon, and Cindy Harrington (Dan Neuhaus) of Madison; 6 grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and a soon to be born baby boy due in January. She is also survived by sisters, Mildred Wolfe and Betty (Tom) Beistel and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, Sylvester; and sisters, Leona and Marion.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Ginny at HOLY MOTHER OF CONSOLATION CATHOLIC CHURCH, 651 N. Main St., Oregon, at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2013. Burial will be at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery. Visitation

Memorials may be made to Agrace HospiceCare, Inc. who cared for Ginny many years and gave her extra time on earth.
