Virginia E. King

Virginia E. King age 92 of Dodgeville passed away on Wednesday, July 10, 2013 at the Upland Hills Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.

She was born on August 17, 1920 in Oshkosh, WI the daughter of Emil and Minnie (Mantei) Dieball. Virginia worked at the U.W. Extension Office in Madison for over 25 years retiring in 2000. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Dodgeville and a former member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Madison. She was an avid gardener, knitter, seamstress and enjoyed fishing and camping. She loved her red pick-up truck “ElToro” and was an associate member of the Otter Creek Church.

Survivors include her 4 children, Barbara (Donald) Hady of Sun Prairie, Michael King of Washington, MA, Rose Mary King (Bill Jones) of Mesa, AZ, Richard King (Sara Brehm) of Richland Center, 5 grandchildren, Alex King, LeAndra, Nathan, Kristin and Benjamin Miller, a great grandson, Jonathon Charles Miller, special friends, Janet & Wesley Gratz of Highland, Ron, Sheila and Ross Jones of Dodgeville and Gary Olson of Edmund, WI, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Emil and Minnie Dieball, a son, Charles King in 1972, a sister, Joyce Ehrenberg in 2003 and a brother-in-law, Louis Ehrenberg.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, July 13, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Dodgeville. Fr. Patrick Wendler will officiate with burial in the Otter Creek Cemetery in Highland Township. Visitation will be held on Saturday at the church from 10:00 A.M. until the time of Mass.
