Madison-Thomas D. Thomas, age 73, passed away on Sunday, March 9, 2014 at Agrace HospiceCare in Fitchburg. He was born on January 29, 1941 in Pardeeville, WI, the son of Jon and Elizabeth (Dalton) Thomas. He joined the Navy in 1960 and served until 1964. On October 6, 1962, Tom married Donna Scharf. They were married for 22 years until her death on October 28, 1984. On January 27, 1990, Tom married Geraldine Troia. Tom enjoyed camping, canoeing and kayaking. He loved to barbeque. Tom was known to throw a big 4th of July, “Rhythm and Booms” party every summer. He had a great sense of humor. He loved joking around with his family and especially his grandchildren. Tom was an avid race fan and would make a trip to Road America every summer. In retirement, Tom enjoyed woodworking, and socializing with his many friends.

Tom is survived by his wife of 24 years, Geraldine Thomas, his children, Debra Thomas, Jeff (Samantha) Thomas, Tom (Kelly) Loniello, Chris (Lee) Fiez, Mike (Julie) Loniello, Karen (Brian Rogers) Nondahl, Annette (Raul Castro) Loniello, Cindy (Ron Cagle) Kitzerow, Rita (Bob) Hefty and Mark (Sue) Loniello; his grandchildren, Alyssa Thomas, Jonathan Thomas and 17 other grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; his siblings, Kay Beck, Bonnie (Tom) Cross, Gail and Wayne Vandenlangenberg and Gordon Thomas; and sister-in-law Barb Brumley.

He was preceded in death by his parents Jon and Elizabeth Thomas and his wife Donna (Scharf) Thomas.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11am on Friday, March 14, 2014, at ST. PETER CATHOLIC CHURCH, 5001 N Sherman Ave, Madison, with Msgr. Charles Schluter officiating. A visitation will be held at the church from 9am until the time of service.

A Heartfelt thank you to Dr. Al Musa and the nurses on the 8th floor at St. Mary’s and Agrace Hospice for the care they provided.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established in Tom’s name.
