Madison- Roherty, Theresa D. “Tess” (Flynn)

Irish eyes were crying when the lord called Theresa Roherty, age 83, to rest on Thursday, June 20, 2013. Theresa was born to William and Delia Flynn in Highland Wisconsin and graduated from East high school in 1947.

Tess married her true love, Paul, in April 1951. She spent hours preparing family dinners for her kids and grandkids. She was the best cook and shared her recopies, which could never quite be duplicated, especially her famous homemade bread. Many great memories were created with friends and family sitting on her porch. She was considered “Mom” by many.

Tess is survived by her daughters Ann Roberts, Maggie (Tony) Juris, Mary Pat (Dave) Dilley; her sons Mike (Sue) Roherty, Matt (Kay) Roherty; grandchildren Ryan (Nicole) Roberts, Megan (Mike) Leviton, Erin (Adam) Hanson, Matt (Jessi) Roherty, Katie and Kellie Juris, Wesley and Clayton Dilley; great-grandchildren Lucy, Madison, Ruby, Sadie, and Mason; her brothers Tom (Betty) Flynn, and Bill (Millie) Flynn; brother-in-law James (Marion) Roherty, sister-in-law Kay (Ray) Carroll, brother-in-law John Wacek; as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband Paul; her son Paul Jr.; brother Mike (Lizzie) Flynn; sisters Mary (Chet) Krepski, Ann (Marsh) Bradley, Pat (Curt) Drogsvold, Dorothy (Buck) Wilson, Edwina (John) Wacek, and Alice (Doug) Drogsvold; sister-in-law Betty Hagen.

Special thanks to everyone at Girlies Manor and Agrace HospiceCare.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, June 25, 2013 at ST. THOMAS AQUINAS, 602 Everglade Drive, Madison, at 11:00 a.m. with visitation from 9:30 until the time of Mass. Burial will follow at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery. An Irish Wake will follow burial at Claddagh Irish Pub, 1611 Aspen Commons (Greenway Station) in Middleton.

“It broke our hearts to lose you, but you did not go alone. A part of us went with you, the day God took you home. If tears could build a stairway, and heartaches make a lane, we’d walk our way to heaven, and bring you back again. In life we loved you dearly, in death we love you still, in our hearts you hold a place no one could ever fill.”
