Stephanie Lea Knipfer, age 57, passed away on Friday, June 28, 2013, at her home after a courageous battle with Krohn’s Disease.

She was born on December 27, 1955, in Madison, the daughter of Woodrow W. and Ida Mildred (Slayton) Knipfer. Stephanie grew up in Stoughton and attended the local schools and graduated from Stoughton High School.

In her spare time, she enjoyed all types of art, junk shopping, fishing, her feline and canine companions, and reading (especially the Bible).

Stephanie was a proficient chef and helped establish many restaurants in the Madison area.

She loved many things in her life, but got the most enjoyment out of her beloved granddaughter, Allissa.

Stephanie is survived by her beloved family which includes her two daughters, Autumn Rinden and Amanda (Jeff) Reen; her grandchildren, Allissa Rinden, Collin Klade, and Olivia Reen; her brother, Roger (Barb) Knipfer; her sisters, Sybil Knipfer and Ida “Joey” (Tom) Shuga; her good friend, Sean Wulf; a special niece and nephew, Woody and Lisa Knipfer; special great-nephew, Robbie; other nieces and nephews; and all her good friends at Farnham Village, Columbus.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Oygane Knipfer; and sister, SueAnn Geier.

A funeral service celebrating her life will be held at GUNDERSON STOUGHTON FUNERAL HOME, 1358 Hwy. 51, Stoughton, at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 5, 2013, with Pastor David Handt presiding.

Friends are invited to call on Friday at the funeral home from 9 a.m. until the time of service.

Burial will be held at Sunset Memory Gardens.

In her final act of giving to others, Stephanie’s hair will be lovingly donated to the Locks of Love program.
