MADISON-Ronald L. “Ron” Blodgett, passed away on Sunday, May 19, 2013, after a long battle with Alzheimers.

He was born on Dec. 22, 1934, to Frances and Leonard Blodgett. He married Judi on Oct. 29, 1966, at Bethel Lutheran Church. Ron was employed by Gilomen Truck and Equipment of Madison as a diesel mechanic for more than 40 years. His great love was cars and over the years he put together many car engines for friends, as well as restoring cars for himself. In the mid 60’s, Ron drove his 1963 Plymouth ultra-stock to 15 wins at Great Lakes Dragaway in Union Grove. He was the top banana in his class. Ron also loved stock car racing and was a mechanic for several cars that raced at Madison International Speedway. With his wife, children and friends he also attended many NASCAR races. For many years his February vacations included the Daytona 500 and a trip to Disney World. Ron was a friend to everyone, very generous with his time, and always ready to help out when asked or needed, he will be greatly missed!
