Richard F. Kiley

SUN PRAIRIE/MADISON-Richard F. Kiley, age 69, passed away on Wednesday, June 5, 2013, at Kindred Hearts Memory Care after a 10 year battle with Alzheimer’s disease.

Rich was born on Feb. 12, 1944, to Mary and Edward Kiley. He worked for the State Department of Health and Human Services for 25 years, retiring in 2001. Rich was an active community member, boy scout leader, little league and basketball coach. He was a longtime member of St. Bernard Parish and the Knights of Columbus. Rich served on the Dane County Board for 18 years, until 2001.

He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Patricia; children, Karen (Jamie) Rayshel, Brian Kiley, and Scott (Sara) Kiley; grandchildren, Mathis Rayshel, Rossalyn Kiley, and one on the way (Linnie); siblings, Charles, Delores, Kenneth, David, and Thomas; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Mary Jane Kiley; and sister-in-law, Pamela Kiley.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. BERNARD CATHOLIC CHURCH, 2450 Atwood Avenue, Madison, at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 15, 2013, with Monsignor Michael Hippee presiding. Entombment will be at Highland Memory Gardens. Visitation will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Friday, June 14, 2013, and also at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of Mass on Saturday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Alzheimer’s & Dementia Alliance or Agrace HospiceCare.

Many thanks to the staff at Agrace HospiceCare and Kindred Hearts for their loving care of Rich these past two years.
