Raymond Julius Gleisner

Raymond Julius Gleisner, age 74, of Dodgeville, passed away peacefully on September 24, 2013 after a short illness. Ray was born July 1, 1939 in Tomahawk, WI to Lloyd and Geraldine (Fehringer) Gleisner. He married the former Alice Faye Rikli of Dodgeville on June 19, 1957. Ray served 22 years in the Armed Forces and retired as a First Sergeant from the Army Reserves. He was a member of American Legion Post 97, VFW Post 7345 and Chapter 4 of the Wisconsin Vietnam Vets. Ray retired from Hennessey Implement as a farm implement mechanic. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends as well as sharing jokes and stories. In retirement, Ray and his wife Faye enjoyed camping, flea markets and taking long drives in the country.

He was preceded in death by his son, Billy on November 14, 1996; his parents, Lloyd and Geraldine Gleisner; his infant sister, Mary Lou Gleisner and his mother and father-in-law, Alice and Vernon Rikli.

Ray is survived by his wife, Alice Faye Gleisner of Dodgeville; two sons, Jerry (Ann) Gleisner of Verona and Bobby (Laura) Gleisner of Fitchburg; three daughters, Barbara (Joe) Joestgen of Oak Creek; Patricia (Eric) Peterson of Milton and Debora Morgan of Madison; nine grandchildren, Matthew (Danielle) Fry; Dana Fry; Joe (Jamie) Peterson; Andrew Peterson; Joshua Morgan; Moriah Morgan; Khersa Morgan; Katie (Travis) Grooters and Dan Joestgen; four great grandchildren, Jaxom Fry; Mason Peterson and Tyler and Ella Grooters; eight brothers and sisters, Roland (Mary Ann) Gleisner of Jefferson; Alice (Robert) McGinnis of Cross Plains; Kathleen (Shelby) Null of Jefferson; Carolyn (Don) Krause of Fr. Atkinson; Monica (Ron) Krause of Jefferson; Joseph Gleisner of Jefferson; Barbara (Roger) DeMoe of Jefferson and Veronica (Joel) Petty of Baraboo; a sister-in-law, Diana (Les) Williams of Holt, MO as well as numerous nieces and nephews and many friends.

A mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, September 28, 2013 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Dodgeville with Fr. Patrick Wendler officiating. Friends may call at the church on Friday from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. and on Saturday after 9:00 A.M. Burial will be in East Side Cemetery with Full Military Honors.
