MADISON- Patricia A. Jensen, age 81, passed away peacefully on Monday, Sept. 9, 2013, at Agrace HospiceCare with her loving family at her side.

Her passing leaves a tremendous hole in the lives and hearts of her loved ones. Pat was born on April 28, 1932, to Burnell and Ann (Nygaard) Larson. She grew up in Madison and graduated from Central High School in 1950. On May 2, 1953, Pat married her true love, John Jensen. Together they raised three children in a home filled with unconditional love and support. They celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary this year. Pat lived a life filled with kindness, compassion and generosity. She always knew just how to make others feel special. Pat greeted friends and strangers alike with a warm smile and welcome. She gave compliments freely and frequently to one and all. Pat wanted nothing more than for others to feel happy and appreciated. Even when she was very ill, never a time went by that she didn’t ask “Is there anything I can do for you?” Above all else, Pat loved being a mom and a grandma. She adored all of her grandchildren, but she had an exceptionally special and beautiful relationship with her eldest granddaughter, Amber Jensen. They truly were “BFF”, Best Friends Forever.

Pat is survived by her three children, Kris Jensen (Laura Laurenzi), Steve (Sandi) Jensen, and Tim Jensen; five grandchildren, Amber Jensen, Zack (Katie) Jensen, Aimee (Matt) Bach, Taylor Jensen, and Ryan Jensen; three great-grandchildren; three sisters-in-law, Eileen Larson, Aileen Gray and Beverly Olson; and numerous nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her sister and cherished friend, Charlene Bronson. Pat was preceded in death by her husband John (Aug. 6, 2013); parents; and brother, John Larson.

Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Dr., Madison, at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2013, with Chaplain Linda O’Leary presiding. Burial will be at Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 17, 2013, and from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service on Wednesday.

The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Agrace HospiceCare for the kind and gentle care they provided Pat.
