Monte "Pete" Williams

Monte "Pete" M. Williams, age 80, of Harmony Township, Milton, died on Friday, May 24, 2013, at home surrounded by his family.

He was born in Rockford on March 28, 1933, the son of Delos and Florence C. (Hoch) Williams. He served in the U.S. Army from 1953 to 1955. Pete married Florence J. McKeown in St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Janesville on May 21, 1955. He had been employed by JATCO, McKeown Oil, as a truck driver and farmed. He was a John Deere enthusiast.

Pete is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Florence Williams; 3 children: Sheila (Steve) Thiel of Plymouth, Brenda Brandt of Davison, MI and Kevin J. Williams of Milton; 6 grandchildren: Brittani Williams, Spencer, Stuart and Stephanie Thiel, Katie and Hannah Brandt; brother, Dwight (Jean) Williams of California; 3 sisters: Ramona Langer of Milton, Sr. Ann Benedict Williams of Michigan and Bonnie (Bill) Richards of Rockford; many nieces, nephews, other extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 28, 2013, at ST. MARY OF THE IMMACULATE CONCEPTION, Milton with Msgr. James Uppena and Rev. James McEnery officiating.

A visitation will be held on Monday from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at ST. MARY OF THE IMMACULATE CONCEPTION, Milton. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception, Milton or the Rock County Humane Society.
