Mildred J. Lasse, age 92, of Janesville, passed away peacefully on Friday, Aug. 23, 2013, at Cedar Crest Assisted Living.She was born on June 26, 1921, in Cedar Rapids, IA, to Vernon and Lela (Churchill) See

. Mildred graduated from Janesville High School in 1939 and in 1942 graduated from the Swedish American Hospital School of Nursing with an RN degree. She married John "Jack" Lasse on Aug. 22, 1943, at Cargill United Methodist Church. He passed away on April 21, 2008.

She was very active in the community. She was a longtime member of Cargill United Methodist Church. She was also a member of the Janesville Woman's Club, Royal Neighbors, Rock County Historical Society, PEO Sisterhood Chapter AY and volunteer and board member of the YWCA. Mildred worked as an RN in the Polio wards in St. Louis after graduation, the Rock County TB Sanatorium and private and clinic duty. For 35 years, Mildred and Jack wintered on Anna Maria Island, FL.

Mildred is survived by her 3 sons: John F. "Buzz" Lasse, Jr. of Queen Creek, AZ, Thomas (Arra) Lasse of Milton, and Daniel (Connie) Lasse of Batavia, IL; 5 grandchildren: Deborah Lasse, Andrew (Rania) Lasse, Christopher (Mary) Lasse, Elizabeth (Noah) Stern and Allisen (Juan) Cullum; 4 great grandchildren: Samantha "Sammy" Zink, Bradan Lasse, Jackson Stern and Andrew Lasse; and a sister, Dorothy (Dr. Neil) Park of Hartford, WI. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack; daughter-in-law, Marty Lasse; and her parents.

A Funeral Service will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 3, 2013, at CARGILL UNITED METHODIST CHURCH with Rev. Krysta Deede officiating. A visitation will be held on Tuesday from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the church. Private interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, memorials may be made to Cargill United Methodist Church, Agrace HospiceCare, Inc. or the Cedar Crest Foundation. SCHNEIDER APFEL SCHNEIDER & SCHNEIDER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY is assisting the family.

She was devoted to her husband, sons, their wives, her sister, her grandchildren, her church, and all of her friends.
