Lawrence Marvin Dolphin

LODI-Lawrence (Larry) M. Dolphin, age 66, passed away on Monday, January 20, 2014 at his home surrounded by his family.

He was born on November 8, 1947, in Madison to Marvin and Rosie (Wenger) Dolphin Sr. Larry married Susan A. (Lafferty) Dolphin on December 22, 1997.

Larry worked as a mechanic with Oscar Mayer for over 33 years until his retirement. His favorite place was working in his garage. Larry loved to restore cars, especially working on his 1956 Ford. He was a renowned handyman and could fix most anything. What Larry didn’t know, he would call his friend Pat Zantow and together they would figure it out. He was very creative in wood working and loved to build things. Larry loved to hunt with his brothers and his cousin Ron Wenger. He especially loved spending time with his family and friends.

Larry is survived by his wife, Susan; daughter, Tracy Lynn (Dolphin) Archer; stepchildren Crystal (Mike) Hoffman and Benjamin (Danielle) Brault; 11 grandchildren; siblings, Elaine (Morris) Dixon, Rosalind (Michael) Bushnell, Marvin (Paege Heckel) Dolphin Jr. and Bill (Laura) Dolphin; and many nephews, nieces, aunts and uncles. Larry was preceded in death by his parents and stepdaughter, Ashley Brault.

Celebration of Life will be held at HAMRE GUNDERSON FUNERAL HOME, 157 S. Main St., Lodi from 2:00 pm until 5:00 pm on Sunday, January 26, 2014.
