James M. Okray

MADISON – James M. Okray, age 42, formerly of Wausau, passed away on Tuesday, May 14, 2013.

He was born on July 17, 1970, in Madison, the son of Peter and Catherine (Cline) Okray. Jim loved spending time outdoors, especially fishing. He loved acting, listening to any genre of music, spending time with his family and was an avid Green Bay Packers fan. He achieved the rank of Eagle Scout in 1987. Jim graduated from Wausau Newman High School in 1989, and also from UW Stevens Point in 1996.

Jim is survived by his mother, Catherine; a sister, Beth (Rob) Klingbile; aunts, Ellen (Keith) Sperling and Emily (Ted) Vanke; uncles, James (Bev Wilson) Okray and Charles (Katrina) Cline; along with many other close relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Peter.

Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, at 3 p.m. on Sunday, May 19, 2013, with the Rev. David Byers-Dent presiding. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 2 p.m. until the time of the service on Sunday. Lunch will follow immediately after the service at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Dane County Humane Society or the Monona United Methodist Church.
